In the past 2 days I have realized –
I can wrap myself for a shower.
I can hang my mask on the outside on the shower curtain hook
I can turn the TV on myself if I don’t have a remote in hand. That’s how people did it in the old days. It still works.
I have had my bathroom curtain on the wrong side the whole time.
But most importantly.
I can figure it out.
I get the feeling that I’m a rat in a cage sometimes, with so many doctors coming in and asking me how am I doing, am I feeling OK. I understand the nurses doing it, it’s part of their regimen, but the doctors…you can’t really trust a doctor. They will ask you a question because they want to know something else, instead of just coming out and asking you what they want to know. If you step on a mine and blow your foot off, a doctor will lean over you say:
“Have you felt any tingling in your toes lately?”
Whereas the nurse will wrap and bandage the leg.
Just like the clock experiment. I can feel my brain connecting, and reconnecting. The human body and brain are absolutely amazing.
Today I learned that I can figure it out. I can solve any problem that I am waiting for someone else to solve. I can solve other people’s problems. I can, and I will.
We all can.
